I first came up with the idea of a business in high school. My mother was extremely supportive and found plenty of opportunities for me to learn and engage with others. I did not realize it but she planted the seeds in me to be a learner and a entrepreneur. I never can correctly spell the word ‘entrepreneur’ whenever I type it and have to always spell-check it to correct it. But back to the post. So I tried my hand at various ideas throughout my life and a few I put real effort behind. But the plans did not work out as I had in my vision of them.

Turns out I was not as prepared to be successful as I had believed I was. But things have changed.

Back in 2016 in reading my sports news as I typically do I read an article that was discussing the world of NBA basketball was investing in a eSports league for NBA teams to invest in. This pique my interest and I read more about it over the coming months. Little did I know eSports was a pretty big field that people was investing in.

I looked from the outside at it with amazement as it was about 2 things I enjoyed. I loved watching others play games as I was never top level at them and just enjoyed playing to play and sports.

Fast Forward a few years (maybe one day I will discuss the happenings in these years) to 2022 and I take the biggest step forward in making the business a reality. I worked on getting a business plan together and other aspects to help me be successful once I get this process full steam ahead.

Unfortunately 2022 was a very tough year for me and plans changed and evolved. In 2023 I started to get back on track and I have set a deadline of July 2024 for the opening of the business. I started some of the steps in reaching out for some storage options for the business. I need to reach out for some computer contacts and also take steps towards getting a lease together.

My current goal is to work on getting the pricing together on the computer, monitors, TV’s, desks, chairs, consoles and such lined up as well as a location narrowed down by the end of 2023. With this in mind I can then work on the negotiations on the location and build-out of the facility. I am looking for a May/June finishing touches on everything including setup so that when July come around I am ready for prime time.

eSports and Gaming is the business that I am launching. And I am excited and scared because this is truly unknown territory for me. I have tried my own business before but this time I am putting more of myself out there to make it work.
